Today was overcast, cold, damp and wet. However, since the kids were only going to be here for another day, we decided to tough it out and go do some exploring. We decided on Face Rock, Coos Bay and Cape Arago. The fog and dampness was so heavy, it was difficult to see any of it. Coos Bay closes it's doors on a Sunday so hardly anything was happening there. Cape Aragon was beautiful but I really would like to see it on a clear day....

In the town of Charleston, we discovered this tribute to "Charlie the Tuna". Pretty good likeness, wouldn't you say...!

As you can see in this picture, Mother Nature was not cooperating with us. We were able to make out the "Face" on Face Rock, but just barely. Face Rock comes from an old Indian Legend about an Indian Princess who lost her life in the Ocean..

This is the view overlooking Point Aragon on the Cape. There is a lighthouse near here, but due to a tribal meeting of some sort, the public was not allowed to view it during our stay. We may try again later this week....

On our way into Coos Bay, we encountered "Ms Linda" who was coming back to port from a fishing adventure.

Once she was past the bridge, we were allowed to continue on into Coos Bay....

Here's another picture of the bridge on Hwy 101 just north of North Bend/Coos Bay....

The kids left today to head home as Josh  starts school next week....Today will be an emotional one filled with separation anxiety. Debi and I will spend the day busying ourselves with getting things back to "normal". We don't plan on doing anything but relaxing and listening to the "quiet"....I will post more on Wednesday....
